Rolling Over with Aftin
Aftin and Bailee have been trying really hard at rolling over and we have seen them do it a couple of times these last couple of days, but I finally got some video of Aftin. Coming soon will be Bailee I am sure.

Chatterboxes
The girls have become little chatterboxes and spend a lot of their day talking in their special language to the playmat friends that they have made. I caught a little of the chattering today while they were playing.
2 minutes apart...
The girls were due on 2/23, but it was decided that due to both of them being breech that we have a scheduled c-section on 2/10, which was 38 weeks and 1 day. Lance and I got to the hospital at 5:30 in the morning (yeah, really early!) and after some registering we were told that we would be having the c-section at 7:30. So we waited and a little bit later we were told that we might have to wait until later in the morning because they had so many women in labor at the hospital. Luckily we were able to go in at 7:30 and after some major sweating by me and some great encouragement from Lance, Aftin was born at 8:03 and only 2 minutes later Bailee was born at 8:05. It was amazing and they were beautiful! Aftin came out and was 20 inches long and 6 lbs. 15 ozs. and Bailee was 20 1/2 inches long and 7 lbs. 4 ozs. Pretty big for twins and I was so happy they were healthy.
Shortly after I was wheeled into recovery and Lance was left with the girls. I had some major nausea and started throwing up from the anesthesia. It lasted until about 9 p.m. and I wasn't able to keep anything down. I felt horrible, but worse for the visitors that day that had to put up with my constant sickness. We had many relatives and friends stop the first day, which was really sweet. We have had a ton of support and it was nice to have everyone there.
Bailee had a little trouble breathing at first, so she had to go into the nursery and patted on her back until some fluid came out. Aftin's right foot was positioned up and out so that was a little nerve wracking, but by the next day the pediatrician had said that she thought the foot would come down on its own and would be fine. She was right, it has been fine since a few weeks after her birth.
We stayed in the hospital for 5 days because the girls had lost some weight after they were born. I spent a lot of time breast feeding and supplementing with formula. Luckily it worked and on Valentine's day we were able to bundle our little ones up and take them home. It was a very snowy night and so it was a longer trip home than normal. It was great being home though. Lance's mom, Bob and Rusty came over an hour after we got home to bring Rookie home to meet his little companions that he will be protecting soon enough.
Overall the last 3 months have gone by way too fast! I will try to add more snippets of them before doing too much of what's going on presently. So stay tuned...

Finally we've started...
Okay, I started this blog after Lance and I got married, but never did anything with it. Now that we have the girls, it's time to start using it. I finally finished and it took a while but better late than never. I can't believe how fast the time has flown. The girls are getting big and changing every day! I will begin by updating the information from the last 3 months, so be patient, I will get there. Thanks for visiting, hope you enjoy watching the girls grow.
