Lance and I weren't ready for a new dog since Rookie's passing 2 years ago until just recently. It was so hard when we lost Rookie that it took quite a bit of time to be okay with getting another one. I am so glad we decided to adopt again though because our newest member of our family is perfect!! The girls named her Isabelle, though we call her Belle or Bella mostly and she's between 2 and 4. She came from a shelter in Missouri (after she was dropped off with her litter of puppies in someone's driveway) to Coco's Heart Rescue in St. Paul in October. We saw her online and after researching the breeds decided she would be a great fit. She's Italian greyhound/beagle mix and you can definitely see both in her. She's got the beagle coloring and a bit of the face, but her body is all greyhound, with super long, skinny legs. So we completed the adoption paperwork and did our meet and greet at her foster's house in Stillwater. After meeting her we knew instantly we wanted to adopt. After a week we set up the home visit on 12/9 and Jesse, her foster, brought her over and we finished up the paperwork and she has been with us since. She is a huge cuddler and such a sweetheart. She's still getting used to the girls and Stoli, which may take time since she's not big on loud noises. We couldn't be happier with our choice to adopt her and are so glad we did.
Hopefully these two become best friends. |
Look at those long legs! |
The girls make sure to give her space for now. |
